- Acclaimed Flop: While the game was received well alongside Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight in Japan, both of them had the weakest sales in the entire series (they even disappeared from the charts one week after their debut), making them the worst-selling games in the franchise at the time of their release.note
- Meme Acknowledgment: Atlus USA referenced Goro Akechi's memetic love of pancakes (when he only mentions "delicious pancakes" once in Persona 5) by calling him "everyone's favorite pancake-loving detective" in the description of the trailer for his pre-order bonus.

- The movies that play behind the end credits from Persona 3 and Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth are available as Downloadable Content, whilst the end credits to this game and Persona 5 are part of the base game.
- The original opening and closing credits of Persona 5: The Animation are available as Downloadable Content.
- Several of the songs are just directly lifted from Persona 5: "Beneath the Mask", "Blooming Villain", "Keeper of Lust", "Last Surprise", "Life Goes On", "Life Will Change", "Price", "Rivers In the Desert", "Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There", "Will Power" and "Yaldaboath ~ Our Beginning".
- Screwed by the Network: In Japan and the United States, several Downloadable Content costumes and songs are free to download, and are all sold individually. In Europe, all of the DLC was packaged together into various packs, with the only exceptions being the additional characters.
- What Could Have Been:
- One of the scrapped designs for Yusuke's crossdressing outfit was an oiran outfit,◊ rejected for being unfeasible technically. Considering what an oiran is... it's probably best this way.
- The Persona Dancing P3D & P5D Soundtrack Advanced CD soundtrack features extended edits of several of the new remixes produced for the game, indicating that the relevant dances were originally going to be longer than those in the final release.
