  • B-Team Sequel: The animation for the second and third film were handled by Reel FX Creative Studios (though the second also used Sony Pictures Imageworks, just like the first film) while Scared Silly was animated by Rainmaker Entertainment.
  • Completely Different Title:
    • The Spanish-language dub is called Amigos Salvajes (Wild Friends).
    • The movie is known as Les rebelles de la forêt (the forest rebels) in French-speaking Europe.
  • The Danza: Gordon Tootoosis as Sheriff Gordy.
  • Direct to Video: The sequels were all released this way outside of Russia.
  • Kids' Meal Toy: At Burger King, it got a set of 7 toys. The Hungry Jack's promotion in Australia featured a unique promotion with different body parts of Boog that you can put together as one big toy. Each body part came with another character from the movie.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • Presumably for budgetary reasons, Martin Lawrence and Ashton Kutcher did not reprise their roles as Boog and Elliot for any of the sequels. For the second film, Lawrence was replaced by Mike Epps and Kutcher was replaced by Joel McHale. Then in the third film, Epps and McHale were replaced by Matthew J. Munn and Maddie W. Taylor. Then in Scared Silly, Boog and Elliot were recasted yet again, this time with Donny Lucas and Will Townsend. Lampshaded in the third film, where when Boog meets up with the other forest animals again, they initially refuse to believe its him partly because his voice sounds different.
    • Maddie W. Taylor (who voices countless other characters in the franchise) replaced Patrick Warburton as Ian in the second and third film. In Scared Silly, Taylor was replaced by Brian Drummond in these roles, although Taylor nonetheless appears in the film voicing several tertiary characters.
    • Though Jane Krakowski and Billy Connolly reprised their roles in the second film as Giselle and McSquizzy, they did not return for the third film and were replaced by Melissa Sturm and André Sogliuzzo.
    • Shaw was voiced by Gary Sinise in the first film. In Scared Silly, he is voiced by Trevor Devall.
    • Mr. Weenie was voiced by story artist Cody Cameron (employing a similar German accent to the Three Little Pigs in the Shrek series, whom he also voiced) in all three films of the original trilogy, then by Will Townsend in Scared Silly. Likewise, Georgia Engel reprised her role as Bobbie in the first three films, then in Scared Silly, Engel was replaced by Kathleen Barr.
    • Sheriff Gordy was voiced by Gordon Tootoosis in the first film. In Scared Silly, Lorne Cardinal takes over the role due to Tootoosis' passing of pneumonia in 2011.
    • Actually, pretty much most of the cast from all previous films were Darrin’d by Canadian actors from The Ocean Group in Scared Silly (also complemented by the fact that the film was animated by Rainmaker Entertainment). In fact, the only cases of Role Reprise here were Melissa Sturm as Giselle and Michelle Murdocca as Maria (doubling as the ONLY cast member to play the same character in all four films). Maddie Taylor also returns, but in different roles.
    • In the tie-in game, none of the actors from the movie reprise their roles except for Patrick Warburton as Ian, Danny Mann as Serge, Maddie W. Taylor as Buddy, and Nika Futterman as Rosie.
  • Playing Against Type: This is the first (and probably last) time that Gary Sinise passes from a dramatic role like Det. Mac Taylor into a Laughably Evil hunter like Shaw.
