  • Corpsing: The One Direction incident, where Victoria laughs twice while reviewing a team's answers from the Connecting Wall.
  • He Also Did: While it wasn't mentioned during her original series, Bridget Prentice, who competed as part of the Jugadores in Series 18, had previously spent 18 years as a Labour Party MP, serving as a British government minister in the ministries of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. This does later come up, for obvious reasons, when she returns without her original teammates for a politics-themed special.
  • Hide Your Pregnancy: In the episodes filmed while Victoria was pregnant, some effort is made to keep her baby bump from being distractingly obvious, most notably by giving her something to stand behind in the Connecting Wall round (the only round in which she's not already sitting behind a desk). These efforts were slightly undermined by Victoria's humorous complaints about giving up alcohol.
  • Milestone Celebration:
    • For the 200th episode, they have cake. Well, Victoria has cake.
    • In the 300th episode, the contestants all sport "300" badges and there is a running gag of a piƱata being lowered next to Victoria. During the end credits she sets about it with a baton — it flies all over the studio but fails to break.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Jack Waley-Cohen, who captained the Lapsed Psychologists team in S1 (and in that role answered the very first question ever asked on the show), would eventually become the show's question editor, alongside David McCaughey who appeared on the Joggers team in S5.
