• Accidentally-Correct Writing:
  • When Izuku first meets Toga in this fic she doesn't trigger his Danger Sense. Come Chapter 345 in canon she is able to grab Izuku with a tube without triggering his Danger Sense. It becomes even more accurate in Chapter 347, when both Izuku and the Vestige of Shinomori realize she's able to attack him because she's doing so out of a twisted perception of love. This was something this fic had noted as a possibility not long after Izuku's first encounter with Toga.
  • Izuku and Tsuyu's first date is at Gang Orca's Hero Agency-slash-aquarium, the Ushimitsudoki Aquarium. Chapter 347 reveals that Gang Orca is the director of an aquarium, which is based on the Ushimitsudoki Aquarium from Oumagadoki Doubutsuen. Whether it's also where his Hero Agency is located in canon isn't known.
  • Griff claiming that All For One gave a quirkless Tenko Decay was actually confirmed by MHA ch 419 (minus the quirkless part).
• Ascended Fanon: La Brava being descendent from the original Stockpile and Bonding Quirk users actually came from a curious question about whether or not this could have been the case. Griff took one look at it and declared now she was. Chapter 55 confirmed this.
• Follow the Leader: With perhaps a dab of You Are the New Trend added in. As the flagship work of the series has no fewer than 21 works on Archive of Our Own listing it as inspiration. Its safe to say that Griff has become something of a trendsetter in MHA fan works.
• Outdated by Canon: The manga's Chapter 368 revealed that the Second Torchbearer's Quirk was Gearshift, instead of 849's Laser Disc.
  • For a long time, Nana was All Might's maternal substitute due to never meeting his parents. Chapter 403 of the manga reveals at least Mama Yagi for the first time ever, with Toshinori as a toddler right beside her.
  • En's surname in this fic is Rokubou, due to him not having a surname, and so, much like with the Second and Third Torchbearers, Griff had to improvise a name. Chapter 419, over 100 chapters since he gave his given name, finally dropped his canon surname: it's Tayutai.
• Trolling Creator:
  • Griffinguy24 had Izuku bond with Toga... for all of a couple of paragraphs, seemingly just to mess with readers.
  • Similarly, he kept insisting that "surely nothing bad will happen at the I-Expo", just to later reveal nothing would happen because Wolfram's group was caught before they could infiltrate it.
  • Relatively early in the fic, Griffinguy24 insisted that Aoyama is not a traitor like in canon. Which is technically true, he's an Unwitting Pawn instead.
  • He also has no problem letting the commenters dig their own graves when it comes to speculation for future chapters. Like with Chapter 40, people started worrying that the temporary QEBs would in some way reset One For All and the Bonds. All he would respond with was non-answers. Then comes Chapter 41, with Izuku worrying by making the same exact speculations - only for the bullet to wear off without any side-effects.
• Word of God: Griffinguy24 is known for giving little bits of information in the author's notes or in comments.
  • One For All is keeping its canon Life Drain properties on people with Quirks as part of a future What the Hell, Hero? against Sir Nighteye.
  • Class 1-A is always referred to by their given names while class 1-B is referred to by their family names to show how the former are True Companions while the latter is mostly Teeth-Clenched Teamwork.
  • Melissa Shield is going to bond to Izuku through All Might, due to their status as Quirkless people, which happens in chapter 11.
  • They confirm that many members of Class 1-B suffered bigotry-motivated bullying, which is why most of them, even Monoma, are disgusted with Bakugou after they learn he is a bully who spent years tormenting Izuku for being Quirkless.
  • In regards to the last two bonds, Word of God confirms the last girl will be school-aged, and Toga won't join the polycule. Briefly form a bond, yes, but not have it stick.
  • Aoyama will not be revealed to be the UA traitor in this story as has been revealed in the manga.
    • Or more accurately, Aoyama is an Unwitting Pawn.
  • Griff confirmed that the series of attacks happening in New York during the Kamino Raid was the result of Mugen calling in a few favors to keep Cathleen, AKA Star & Stripe away from the battle about to occur in Kamino.
  • The reason that Bakugo was classified as an A rank villain was due to a mistake on the author's part on how the My Hero Academia villain ranking system worked. This actually becomes a plot point in Griffinguy24's side story Unstable Compound
  • Hisashi Midoriya's original surname before he took Inko's was Akatani after Mikumo Akatani, the prototype version of Izuku.
  • Tigre is an OC of the authors for a planned story where he went to UA and Aldera as a transfer student. The idea was shelved, but the language barrier that came up was a shout-out to it.
  • Had Griffinguy24 used the canon Quirk of the Second Torchbearer, Yui would still be bonded to Izuku through him, only she'd be an even better fit.
  • Bakugou's "poor reaction" to Izuku having a crush on him wasn't because he's homophobic, but because he was disgusted that someone as "weak and useless" as Izuku had a crush on him.
  • A Tumblr post revealed that Ochako, Mei, Tsu and Melissa were always going to be in the harem. Griff realized that a vestige themed harem was possible as those four matched their respective vestiges. This quickly evolved into Momo and Toru being in the polycule as they also matched Yoichi and En. For the second and third vestiges, he considered Kendo for Fa Jin and Pony for Laser Disc. A consideration was Setsuna, but by the time he solidified what the Second and Third Quirks were, she was a long shot, specifically for the second one. He also detailed what would have evolved with the respective girls:
    • Kendo with Fa Jin: OFA would increase the maximum size of her enlarged fists, alongside letting other parts of her body grow (arms to increase her range, feet to enhance her kicks, etc.). She’d eventually be able to grow herself ala Mt. Lady. Fa Jin would carry over in its entirety, and would probably make growing easier. Meanwhile, Izuku’s use of Fa Jin would let him summon huge outbursts of energy, imagine him punching someone and forming a giant spectral fist increasing the area of impact.
    • Pony with Laser Disc: OFA would increase the number of horns she can shoot and control, by a factor of ten at least. Laser Disc would coat her horns in that same energy, increasing the power of Horn Cannon and allowing them to explode on impact. Izuku would get a longer range for Laser Disc as well as the ability to control their movement and increased durability when using them as a shield.
    • Setsuna with Laser Disc: OFA would increase the range that Setsuna can split her body parts, alongside hyper charging her regeneration to nearly the same levels as the Nomu’s Super Regeneration. And she could coat her body parts in Laser Disc energy and use them as projectiles. Izuku’s Laser Discs could be launched from any part of his body, not just his hands. He’d also have much greater control over their movement and a limited ability to sense through them, giving him a potential HUD.
  • The Meta Liberation Army deliberately cripple Japan's military during their opening attack because otherwise, Griff felt it'd make no sense for the JSDF to not get involved in dealing with a terrorist insurrection.
