  • Content Warnings: As of December 2018, the site admins have begun conceding to the repeated request of commenters to have these placed at the beginning of stories which contain physical assault or animal abuse/death. There are some stories from beforehand that had them, such as this one from January the same year, but the warnings weren't as common as the stories many thought warranted them.
  • Recycled Script:
    • By the time the below mentioned "Part Whatever..." entry came out, pretty much every potential answer a significant other could give to the question "What would you do if I became a zombie?" had been documented, and there wasn't much variation from three answers—let themselves be bitten, kill them, or find some way to keep them as a pet. There was the occasional deviation like 'panic' or 'I work near the hospital morgue, there's no way you'd turn before me', but for dozens of stories, it was the same three answers.
    • While there are a handful of exceptions, most entries of "Here we Pokémon Go Again, Part X" follow the same formula: someone finds a rare Pokémon outside a building, they inform others inside the building of the Pokémon, and a large number of people suddenly drop what they're doing to go catch it. Occasionally, there'll be a bemused reaction from a non-player.
  • Technology Marches On: There are a number of stories across the entire website that deal with technical problems that would be a problem back in the time they take place but would be a non-issue in more recent times. Some of the most common are stories taking place in the mid-1980s to early-1990s wherein someone is struggling with a computer-related problem that would be much less of a problem nowadays (such as forgetting to save a document or over how expensive personal computers were at the time) or stories with problems that would be solved much quicker had cell phones existed or been more widely available at the time.
  • Writer Revolt: Someone on the mod staff of Not Always Romantic must be getting sick of the "Till Undeath Do Us Part" stories, seeing as the last one (as of New Years 2016) was numbered "Part Whatever..."
