• Its noted by the author that if Maui had been killed by Karasu instead of forced to kneel his niece Korra would have eventually engineered the deaths of both Gengetsu and Mu at the kenjutsu tournament.
  • Orochimaru was planning to do this as well but once it was realized that his plan would have resulted in a huge number of civilian casualties the players pulled back hard and averted it.

• If Taki hadn't used their jinchuriki against Iwa for no reason then the war would have been won roughly a year earlier and with far fewer casualties.

• When Karasu spontaneously developed the Hyoton thanks to an ultracrit there was a vote on what his secondary element was and this resulted in his advanced elemental bloodline. If a different element that wasn't water was picked it's quite possible that he would have a different second bloodline entirely.
