- Executive Meddling: Co-creator Billy Brown really struggled with the demands of the executives at Fox.Brown: They said many conflicting things. We had a chance to option an incredible Dean Koontz short story that was just terrifying, and they nixed that because it was too scary. And yet they complained that other stories weren't scary enough.
- Disabled Character, Disabled Actor: The deaf woman in "Voices" is played by a deaf actress.
- Playing Against Type:
- Comedian Jamie Kennedy gives a completely serious performance as a kindhearted crewman desperately trying to rescue a family of stowaways in "Cargo", and does a surprisingly good job.
- Malcolm McDowell and Miguel Ferrer, who usually play bad guys, play a man suffering from OCD and a psychologist in "Patterns".
- Recycled Script:
- "My So Called Life and Death" is kind of like a Darker and Edgier version of The Ghost Next Door, which may or may not be a coincidence considering the creators of Night Visions also did a lot of work on the TV adaptation of Goosebumps (1995).
- "Patterns" is basically a remake of The Twilight Zone episode "The Curious Case of Edgar Witherspoon." They even have the exact same Twist Ending.
- What Could Have Been: The showrunners did not plan on having a Horror Host, but when the network insisted on one, they started talks with Gary Oldman... who the network rejected in favor of Henry Rollins.
