• At the end of If a Tree Falls, the car with the protagonists' body in it is lost in the depths of the lake...except he's still functionally immortal, so what's stopping him from swimming down there with a flashlight? Or hell, just hire some scuba divers? It's a lake, not an ocean; it can't be that deep.
  • Moreover, his body is in a car with open windows. Even if he's belted in place, once his body starts to decompose (which, even in the cooler temperatures at the bottom of the lake, shouldn't take more than a few years at most) he should float free of the wreck and bob to the surface. It's also completely possible that the seatbelt itself would rot away after being submerged in water.
