• Bad Export for You: The original US release contained director commentaries and copious liner notes, both in-video and in pack-in flyer thingies which are completely missing from all other US releases of the show. This is mostly due to ADV holding the trademark & copyright on their ADVidNotes even after they lost the rights to the series. Funimation's license-rescues of other ADV series that used the feature (like Excel♡Saga and Pani Poni Dash!) also have this issue.
• Dawson Casting:
  • Hideki's voice actor in the Japanese version, Shigeru Matsuzaki, stands out particularly because apparently it was his first role in twenty-four years, and the man was pushing at least sixty years old while trying to play a twenty-five year old character.
  • As usual, this is in full effect for pretty much everyone in the English dub, though not to that extreme.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Now that Funimation has lost the license, their DVD release is out of print too and it's very unlikely that this will be getting a re-release any time soon due to this being an Aniplex show. So if you already have the series on DVD keep 'em, if you don't....well you're shit out of luck on the legal side of things.
• Queer Character, Queer Actor: Ambiguously Bi Hideki and Ambiguously Gay Ichiro are voiced by Greg Ayres and Chris Patton, both of whom are openly gay.
