- Ascended Fanon:
- After being seemingly disproved by "Somepony to Watch Over Me"note and "Made in Manehattan"note , Applejack reveals that her hat was indeed a keepsake of her parents, coming from her father specifically. While there are possible explanations for this (she has plenty of hats and only wears THAT hat on special occasions for example) none of them are supplied by the show, creating a space for even more fanon.
- After a scant few appearances of non-sapient Deer and the IDW comics which featured sapient deer throughout the years, talking Reindeer have finally appeared on the show.
- Distanced from Current Events: The Polish dub of "The Great Escape Room" short premiered on January 7, 2019, three days after five teenage girls were killed in an escape room fire in Poland.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Best Gift Ever is relatively hard to find on streaming these days as it only airs seasonally on Discovery Family, and is also no longer available for purchase from most digital media stores, and was never released on DVD (at least in North America).
- Out of Holiday Episode: It's a Christmas Special that originally aired on October 27th, just a few days before Halloween.
- Word of God: The special takes place between Season 8 and 9.
