Trivia with pages:

  • Feelies: Objects included with the game included a brochure of the castle, two letters from Tamara to the player character (one about her engagement to Jack, one telling them about the White Lady and asking them to investigate), and a book about ghosts with a section on the White Lady.

Miscellaneous trivia:

  • Moonmist is considered by many to be the first video/computer game to feature a gay character. You discover in the game's Blue version that artist Vivian Penteath had been in a romantic relationship with Deidre before Deidre became engaged to Lord Jack. Vivien is never explicitly said to be a lesbian (the word "lesbian" is never used) but the diary entry you discover that reveals her past relationship with Deidre makes things pretty clear. Plus, Infocom Implementor Brian Moriarty has confirmed that Vivien is intended to be gay.
  • Jim Lawrence, one of the co-authors of Moonmist, had previously ghost-written books in the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, among other things. He had previously co-written Seastalker for Infocom (which bears as much resemblance to a Tom Swift novel—which Lawrence had also written—as Moonmist does a Nancy Drew novel). Infocom had the idea to hire professional writers to create their games, and either teach them code and game design or else pair them with someone who already had those skills; the idea didn't work well overall, and Lawrence was one of the only such writers brought in under those circumstances whose work saw the light of day. Born in 1918, he was 68 when Moonmist was released.
