Trivia / Mona the Vampire

Go To

  • Adored by the Network: CBBC in the UK treated the series pretty well and gave it many airings throughout the week. Averted for when the series aired on Pop, as it only lasted a year in 2015 and was soon removed to make way for new shows.
  • Children Voicing Children: Mona and her friends are all voiced by actual children.
  • Follow the Leader: The series has a lot in common with Rugrats, another show with heavy use of Fantasy Sequences and a Blonde female bully. In the UK, both shows aired on Nickelodeon as well as CBBC.
  • International Coproduction: Between Cinar in Canada and Alphanim in France. Interestingly, the book series began in the UK, and the novels were illustrated by the British Sonia Holleyman and co-written by Hiawyn Oram, a South African living in the UK.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes:
    • While many episodes of the series were released on DVDs in the UK and Canada, they didn't cover the full series, with only the first season being released fully on the format. As for the US, the show didn't premiere there until the early 2010s, when it was added to Jaroo and aired on This TV's Cookie Jar Toons block. However with the closure of both services, it made it hard to watch episodes. Luckily, the whole series was later uploaded to YouTube.
  • Late Export for You: It never aired in the US during it's original run despite it's success overseas. As a result, it didn't pop up in over there until it was added to the now defunct Jaroo, a website ran by Cookie Jar in the early-2010s consisting of various shows they owned. It later made it's TV debut on This TV's Cookie Jar Toons/This is for Kids block in 2012, thirteen years after it originally aired in Canada, and eight years after it ended.
  • The Other Darrin: The Latin American Spanish dub was originally done by Mexico-based Fandango Studios, which was owned by the show's producer Cinar. However, due to Cinar shutting down Fandango, as a cost-cutting measure following the financial scandal the company was experiencing at the time, the cartoon was dubbed in Miami in the US with different cast, from Season 3 onward.
  • The Resolution Will Not Be Identified: The Series Finale, Medusa's Revenge/The Fearsome Forecasts, just played out like normal episodes.
