- Billing Displacement: Madeline Kahn gets second billing despite playing a supporting role. Rita Wilson is arguably the lead female character, but gets billed under supporting actors Adam Sandler and Juliette Lewis. Jon Stewart is also listed in the opening credits as if he were playing a supporting character, but only appears very briefly and has only a couple lines.
- The Cast Showoff:
- Adam Sandler wrote the song that he sings to Rita Wilson. Meaning he probably did his own playing on the ukulele as well.
- Later in the movie, classically trained singer Madeline Kahn hears her fellow cast members singing "Deck the Halls" and decides to join in. Though since she's deliberately off-beat, it's more a combination of this and Irony as She Is Cast.
- Fake American: Australian Anthony LaPaglia as Felix.
- Trans Character, Cis Actor: Cis actor Liev Schreiber as a trans girl. The original French version, Le Père Noël est une ordure (1982) has cis male actor Christian Clavier in the same role.
- What Could Have Been:
- Rosie Perez and Kadeem Hardison were the original choices to play Gracie and Felix.
- The role of Chris was originally meant for Chris Farley.
