- Dueling Works: With Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid, another Fantastic Comedy about a mortal man and a mermaid. This was even rushed into production to beat it into cinemas. The former was more popular in America, but Miranda was a big success in Britain.
- Hostility on the Set: Director Ken Annakin despised Griffith Jones (Paul), finding him difficult to deal with and disliking how he was "always trying to score over the other actors".
- Production Posse: Ken Annakin directed Glynis Johns in six more films.
- Romance on the Set: Subverted. Ken Annakin developed a crush on Glynis Johns, and she did show interest, but he rebuffed her because she was married at the time (her husband however was gay).
- Star-Making Role: This made Glynis Johns a household name.
- Talent Double: Joan Hebden doubled for Glynis Johns for the scenes of Miranda swimming underwater.
- Uncredited Role: Gerald Campion as a lift boy.
- What Could Have Been: Jean Simmons was apparently passed over for the title role.
