• Mutually Fictional: Jackson watches a horror movie with his girlfriend starring two actors who look exactly like them, except for their clothes. Nobody comments on the fact that they are the same person. Even the people in the movie theater!

  • Eddie Murphy's 1983 HBO special Eddie Murphy Delirious features him in a bright red pleather jacket inspired by Jackson's getup in this music video. Murphy would later collaborate with Jackson twice in the early '90s, with Murphy appearing as Ramses II in Jackson's "Remember the Time" and Jackson providing guest vocals on Murphy's "Whatzupwitu".
  • The Fairly OddParents!: In "One Man Banned", the montage showing Timmy Turner's rise to stardom as Timmy Triangle depicts him, Cosmo, and Wanda reenacting the "Thriller" dance, complete with Timmy in a red jacket and curly hair styled after Jackson. The episode premiered just four months after Jackson's death.
  • Plants vs. Zombies: In the original release of the game, just one month before Jackson's death, the Dancing Zombie and Backup Dancer Zombie are respectively styled after Jackson and his backing dancers as they appear in the music video. Following complaints from the Jackson estate, the Game of the Year Edition in 2010 redesigned the Zombies to resemble generic disco dancers, with these changes carrying over to ports on other platforms.
