Trivia / Mew and Mewtwo

• Ascended Fanon: Many plot points like Newtwo having a child and Mewtwo turning into a Shadow Pokémon were the result of fan requests.
• Author Appeal: Aside from Mew and Mewtwo TC has admitted their favorite Pokémon species include Raichu, The Abra line, Spiritomb, and Lucario with TC jumping at any chance to draw them.
• Creator's Pest: TC has admitted the reason Pikachu became so Out of Focus after Huey's birth was a result of them unable to think of any ideas for him.
• Saved for the Sequel: Originally Mewtwo was going to be Huey's parent rather than Newtwo but TC decided it was too early for Mewtwo to be a parent and Newtwo would be a better fit so they held off on making Mewtwo a parent for a year.
• What Could Have Been:
  • As mentioned above originally Mewtwo was the one who would get pregnant with Huey before deciding Newtwo was a better fit.
  • TC considered adding Ash's Gengar to the cast in the same vein as Ash's Riolu, but felt introducing them prior to the cast finding out Pig's hybrid nature would lead to plot holes. By the time Pig being part Gengar became known to the cast, TC felt anything Gengar could've offered was already filled by Smoothie the Spiritomb.
• Why The Fandom Cant Have Nice Thungs: TC has stated the large amounts of pestering they’ve gotten to include Greninja and/or Serena into the series, despite not being fond of either character, has ensured that they’ll appear.
• Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: While specific arcs are planned out TC has admitted the overarching story and mythology was made up as they went along.
