This is the Trivia page for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. See here for the entire Prime Trilogy's Trivia page.

  • Cross-Regional Voice Acting: Voice actors from Austin (Timothy Patrick Miller, Lainie Fraser, Edwin Neal, Claire Hamilton, Clayton Kjos, Brian Jepson and Gray G. Haddock) and Dallas (Christopher Sabat and Troy Baker) were used for the game.
  • Dummied Out:
    • There's an unused jellyfish enemy called a Mantha that was likely intended as a platform, due to its flat top and weakness to cold, and its compatibility with the Grapple Beam.
    • Aurora Unit 242 has an unused log entry hiding in the game code, whereas in the normal game she can't be scanned at all. Notably, it mentions that Olympus crew members have nicknamed her "Other Brain," making the subtle connections between Aurora Units and Mother Brain more explicit.
    • There still exists a room in the files called "04_gfship_endocoonlab", which implies that the wall-jumping Etecoons were to appear in the GFS Olympus at some point.
  • Executive Meddling: The game's very existence is the result of this. After completing Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the team wanted to experiment with other Nintendo franchises, including The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong Country. Metroid Prime 3 was made at Nintendo's insistence, as Iwata wanted a Metroid title in order to showcase the Wii's capabilities.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: To promote the game in the weeks leading up to its release, a Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Channel was released through the Wii eShop that progressively added several brief trailers about the game. These notably included a video on the Aurora Units that gave several hints about their possible connections to Mother Brain. Due to the Wii eShop's closure in 2019, the only way to see the videos is if someone still kept the Channel on their Wii's internal storage or by watching the clips uploaded to online video sites.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • A scrapped idea for the game was to have Samus doing some actual bounty hunting as optional side-missions, to avert the series trend of her doing everything but her stated profession. Nintendo balked at the idea for two reasons: the first being that they didn't think it was in-characternote , and the second being that Nintendo didn't believe the studio was large enough to do such expanded elements while still making the desired release deadline.
    • The Gunship was originally meant to play a larger part in the game, with piloting sections. They were cut when Retro realized they didn't have the expertise to pull them off, preferring to scrap them entirely rather than deliver something unsatisfying.
    • There were going to be Chozo ruins on Bryyo, as shown by concept art in Nintendo Power, but the area was cut out, leaving the only Chozo artifacts being in Bryyo Ice.
    • Gandrayda was going to have a Reptilicus transformation too. This was likely cut due to the fact that she already had plenty of other forms to use.
    • The original concept for the opening Ridley fight wasn't supposed to be falling down a shaft, but would rather have been Samus standing on the top of her ship while it was flying through a canyon.
