Trivia / Mega Man (Dreamwave)

• Development Hell: The fourth (and as it turned out, final) issue suffered this.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Dreamwave went out of business (thanks in no small part to bad business practices), killing any chance this series has of continuing or even bring reprinted. If that's not enough, neither Archie (who makes comics of their own) or Udon (who made comics based on other Capcom properties) look interested in gaining the reprint rights to this series.
  • Archie and Udon both expressed disdain for the series; Udon - also based in Canada - was especially uninterested due to the alienation of the source materiel and the outright crap the stories became.
• What Could Have Been: The final issue touted a comic series based on Mega Man X. Unfortunately, thanks to Dreamwave going out of business, this never came to be, and almost nothing is known about What Could Have Been (though according to this, it would have been Mega Man X In Name Only).
  • According to Spaz in the first paperback volume of Sonic the Hedgehog/Mega Man: Worlds Collide, the basic idea of having a Mega Man crossover with Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics) dates as far back as when this series was running. It never went through, and while Archie finally did get the license outright, Spaz says that all that got carried over to the final crossover was the basic idea for a "sneakers and helmet" image that was used for a teaser.
