- Celebrity Voice Actor:
- Just like all of Studio Ghibli's films since 1997, the film features celebrities voicing the main characters. Mary is voiced by actress Hana Sugisaki, Peter is voiced by veteran actor Ryunosuke Kamiki and singer Hikari Mitsushima voices the red-haired witch.
- The English dub featured popular celebrities voicing the film's characters. Including such big names as Ruby Barnhill, Kate Winslet and Jim Broadbent.
- Children Voicing Children: Mary and Peter are 12-year-old children voiced by Ruby Barnhill and Louis Ashbourne Serkis in the English dub. Both of them were around the same age as their characters, as Barnhill turned 13 when the dub was recorded.
- Creator Couple: David and Lynda Freedman, who wrote the English language adaptation of the film, are husband-and-wife, respectively.
- Creator's Oddball: Studio Khara was part of the production committee of the film and co-produced the film with Studio Ponoc. This film is a lighthearted fairy-tale adventure, while Studio Khara is more known for their Darker and Edgier Kaiju Deconstructions such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Shin Godzilla.
- The Danza: Mrs. Banks, who serves as one of Mary's maids, is voiced by Morwenna Banks in the English dub.

- In the Japanese version, Mary and Peter are voiced by the 19-year-old Hana Sugisaki and the 23-year-old Ryunosuke Kamiki.
- The Latin American Spanish dub features the 21-year-old Elizabeth Infante as Mary and the 19-year-old Emilio Ángeles Calderón as Peter.
- Descended Creator: Geoffrey Wexler, the English dub's producer, was one of the additional voices.

- So My Kids Can Watch: Yoshiaki Nishimura produced Mary and the Witch's Flower as a favor for his daughter, who wanted a film that's more fun for her, after both The Tale of the Princess Kaguya and When Marnie Was There were both tearjerker arthouse films.
- Underage Casting: For the English dub, the 32-year-old Rasmus Hardiker provides the voice of the older Zebedee.
- What Could Have Been: Disney had been talking about adapting The Little Broomstick back in the 1980s. However, the studio execs told the animators to work on a more ambitious film. This led to The Black Cauldron being made instead.
