Trivia / Living Dead Dolls

  • Banned in China: The dolls have been banned in Greece, and Ireland considered it, too.
  • Development Gag: Candy Rotten, the only one of the named original handmade dolls who was never actually produced, finally got made for the 20th anniversary series.
  • In Memoriam: Rain is a tribute to Ed's mother, and shares her death date. She's an angel since the angel dolls his mother bought inspired the creation of the Living Dead Dolls.
  • Milestone Celebration:
    • To celebrate the tenth series, the clear coffin lids have a unique design with red metallic logos.
    • The 13th anniversary of the brand was celebrated with unique packaging for dolls released that year festuring a 13-themed take on the sulfur symbol, including Series 21 and a set of anniversary dolls based on the Series 1 originals with some minor changes. That anniversary set also included variant dolls that exactly replicated the looks of the S1 editions.
    • The 25th series of dolls has special silver coloring for the coffin boxes.
    • Series 35 of the dolls, which also marked the brand's 20th anniversary, included the character Candy Rotten for the first time—she was an original "handmade" LDD character from before the line was officially produced who had never been released, making her final release significant. The series also has a mystery doll in each complete set, which was one of a six in a set of Resurrection-style redesigns of the Series 1 cast and Candy Rotten, glass eyes and all, leaving the full Series 35 with eleven dolls total, and six in the Resurrection style.
  • Troubled Production: The brand entered a soft hiatus of sorts between 2018 and 2023, with no new LDD original characters debuting and series releases ending after Series 35, while the brand continued only through licensed releases. Word got out that this was due to one of the creators being removed from the brand and work breaking down. The Return line revealed in 2023 is a full reworking of the concept which no longer credits the original creative partnership.
