  • Dummied Out: Where do we start? Most of the following content was found by datamining the Steam version of the game, but some files seem to date up to the original Wii U version and the 3DS prequel, The Chase Begins:
    • An unused "Buddy" character with Civilian, Police and Robber outfits was discovered, likely planned for co-op before it was decided to just give Player 2 a second Chase.
    • Characters like Harbor Cop, shirtless Chase McCain, as well as tons of characters from The Chase Begins can also be found, but don't appear anywhere in-game. There's also an unused body texture for a female cop, possibly Grace Makepiece, looking very similar to McCain's.
    • Several unused vehicles like a school bus and combine harvester aren't unlockable, but fully playable if obtained through modding. One of the unused boats even has its own stylized logo as introduced in the 2017 rerelease.
    • There's plenty of unused dialogue as well, including some suggesting something going on between Heckerson and Dunby and several alternate takes on Blue's monologue in Special Assignment 2.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: With the 3DS Eshop now shut down, the 3DS prequel Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins is only playable via cartridge or downloaded prior to closure.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: To help the "old cop show" feel, "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves plays in the intro. Incidentally, this might be some leftover licensing from Lego Rock Band, which would also make it a Mythology Gag in regards to LEGO games.
