- Acting for Two:
- Yuri Lowenthal plays Superman and Superman X. Justified, because the latter is a clone of the former.
- Kari Wahlgren voices Saturn Girl, Triplicate Girl, and Shrinking Violet.
- Actor Allusion:
- Dave Wittenberg's character, Ferro Lad, at one point tells Lightning Lad that he doesn't want to see what's under his mask.
- Dorian Harewood, who voices Dr. Londo in Season 2, also voiced another doctor who had issues with his son. Unfortunately, this one had much less of a "happy ending" vibe to it.
- Common Knowledge: In spite of popular assumption, James Tucker explained on the World's Finest forums that Justice League episode "Far From Home" was not a backdoor pilot for a Supergirl/Legion of Super-Heroes show that got retooled into this Superman/Legion of Super-Heroes show. Legion of Super-Heroes was a demand from the network to create a Superman-centric show to tie-in with Superman Returns. However, Tucker and Dwayne McDuffie have stated that Justice League would have gone off into a space-time adventure direction had it gone another season, so Legion of Super-Heroes may have been partially inspired by those unused plans.
- Conclusion in Another Medium: While the show was cancelled after the second season, the Comic-Book Adaptation had stories taking place after the show until it was cancelled itself after the 20th issue.
- Executive Meddling: The reason Phantom Girl and Saturn Girl didn't make as many appearances in Season 2 was because the crew was told to make the cartoon appeal more to boys. As mentioned down below, this is also the reason Alexis only had a simple cameo during that season.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: While Season 1 was completely released across three DVD volumes, the second season never received any complete home releases. Only the 2-part series finale got released on home video as an extra on The Death of Superman, and that was a decade since it had aired on television. Finally averted in 2020, when not only did the second season finally get a DVD release, but the complete series was also released on Blu-Ray.
- The Other Darrin:
- Emerald Empress went from being voiced by Jennifer Hale to Tara Strong.
- Dr. Londo went from being voiced by Harry Lennix to Dorian Harewood.
- Recursive Adaptation: The tie-in comic, Legion of Super Heroes in the 31st Century, though it features◊ designs◊ for characters who didn't appear in the show that were closer to the DC Animated Universe, including Brainiac (who appeared in Season 2 with a far different design◊) and Martian Manhunter.
- Not only that, the final issue of the comic ended with an appearance of the Pre-Zero Hour Legion to bookend the series.
- Role Reprise:
- Corey Burton reprises his DC Animated Universe role as Brainiac.
- In the French dub, Martha Kent is voiced by Brigitte Virtudes, reprising her role from Smallville.
- Screwed by the Lawyers: The reason why Clark is specifically referred to as "Young Superman" in the show instead of "Superboy" is because at the time, DC had actually lost the rights to Superboy. As a result, despite the character clearly being Superboy, the legal issues at the time prevented the writers from actually calling him that.
- Screwed by the Network: Was canned after only two seasons as mentioned down below, although it was admittedly lucky to last that long due to The WB changing to The CW at the time.
- Throw It In!: Courtesy of Batman: The Brave and the Bold director Ben Jones and some Shrug of God from James Tucker, these two shows might take place in a Shared Universe.
- What Could Have Been
- There was going to be a third season, which never came due to the cancellation of the show when The WB transitioned into The CW.
- Mon-El was supposed to be in the line-up for Season 2. Instead, we got Superman X.
- James Tucker had plans to make Alexis Luthor into The Dragon for Imperiex in season two. She would have later made a Heel–Face Turn (out of personal selfishness, of course) and betrayed him, gaining the galaxy's trust and running for a political position. Due to Executive Meddling, however, they had to reduce the number of female characters for most of the season, and the subplot was cut.
- According to James Tucker in an interview with World's Finest Online, had the show continued with a third season, Supergirl would have been introduced.
- This show was originally going to be a part of the DC Animated Universe.
