Trivia / LeAnn Rimes

  • Breakaway Pop Hit: While Coyote Ugly was a very successful film, "Can't Fight the Moonlight" was a worldwide hit that served as a turning point in her career to pop in the early 2000s before switching back to country.
  • Chart Displacement: Her only #1 hit on any chart was "One Way Ticket (Because I Can)", a far lesser-known song than "Blue", "How Do I Live", or "Can't Fight the Moonlight".
  • Development Hell: Lady & Gentleman was stalled for several years due to single underperformance.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: "Put a Little Holiday in Your Heart" and a cover of "Unchained Melody" were originally available only as bonus tracks on versions of Blue purchased at Target stores in the 1996 holiday season. While "Unchained Melody" was later issued as a single and put on an album of the same name, "Put a Little Holiday..." was not commercially available until the God Bless America album five years later.
  • Non-Singing Voice: In Coyote Ugly, she also provides the singing voice for Piper Perabo. In the final scene where she appears As Herself performing "Can't Fight the Moonlight", she duets with herself.
  • One-Take Wonder: "One Way Ticket (Because I Can)" was recorded in only one take.
