• Actor Allusion:
  • The lady at the bank has Gamelguard as a last name. This references Tom Hanks's last directorial effort That Thing You Do! - where Faye mentions a boy with that name.
  • Another That Thing You Do reference - the line "we're being invaded" was said in both movies.
• Directed by Cast Member: Tom Hanks. In addition to directing and starring, he produced and co-wrote the screenplay.
• Dyeing for Your Art: Bryan Cranston apparently went on an intense diet and workout routine, while also bleaching his teeth white. This was to make it more believable that he could be married to Julia Roberts.
