Trivia / Lake Placid

• Channel Hop: The original film was produced and released by 20th Century Fox. When Sci Fi Channel expressed interest in a sequel, Fox sold the Lake Placid property (sans the original film, which Fox kept) back to the producers, who then partnered up with Sony Pictures to co-produce the eventual TV movie sequel with Fox for Sci Fi. All subsequent films after that were Sony exclusive. Since 2018, Sony now holds the digital rights to the first two films on behalf of Fox, who retains the copyrights to them.
