Trivia / Kirby & the Amazing Mirror

Go To

  • B-Team Sequel: This game was developed primarily by Dimps and the Capcom subsidiary Flagship, with the usual series developers at HAL Laboratory only providing supervision.
  • New Work, Recycled Graphics: Owed in part to its status as a B-Team Sequel, much of the game's assets are carried over from Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, the GBA remake of Kirby's Adventure from two years prior.
  • Technology Marches On: The cell phone Kirby uses is a very blocky design with an antenna, which very obviously dates the game to the mid-2000s before smartphones came into being. Interestingly, the German version refers to it as a walkie-talkie instead; given its strong resemblance, this neatly avoids the problem.
  • What Could Have Been: Kirby's normal form and all of his Copy Abilities have Flavor Text when the game is paused, but Dummied Out of a prototype build is one for when he dies, and shows a drawing of him in a puddle of blood. It was likely removed because the game can't normally be paused during Kirby's Death Throws, though this doesn't apply to the prototype demo.
