  • Channel Hop:
    • The pilot aired on [adult swim] through Toonami on Daylight Saving Time after Sword Art Online. The series itself aired on Adult Swim's website before premiering on Adult Swim.
    • The pilot was animated by Mirari Films's facilities in Romania. While the series itself was animated by Titmouse in Los Angeles.
  • Executive Meddling: A somewhat positive example: JJ Villard was developing a different show for Adult Swim entitled Happy Land, but after seeing the initial designs for King Star King, AS head Mike Lazzo ordered Villard to cancel Happy Land and make King Star King instead, which Villard delightedly obliged to. Following KSK's cancellation, Villard would Retool Happy Land as a pilot called Trap Universe, but the show failed to translate to a full series.
  • Screwed by the Network: The series only aired once on the main network at a after midnight timeslot and was never seen again, possibly because was deemed too disturbing and messed-up by Adult Swim standards. The pilot, on the other hand, was shown twice, first on Toonami and again on "The History of Adult Swim" marathon.
