• Beam Me Up, Scotty!:
  • Wit's song is often quoted "Powiedzcie Fochnie która zapyta, że nie ma Woja nad Wita" ("Tell Fochna when she will ask, that there is no warrior better then Wit"). However, in the book each time he sings the song he uses a different female name in the lyrics but not once used the name "Fochna", despite this being the name of the girl he was in love with in his debut appearance.
  • Mirmił's cathprase "Lubava, plant Orchids on my grave" is often misquoted by replacing Polish word "Grób" (grave) with "Kurchan" (barrow) Mirmił did wail many times about being bury in a "barrow" but never in the same sentence as the orchids. In fact the famous "Orchids" line was only used handful of times in two books, despite many remembering that it was said in almost every volume and being used all the time in adaptations.
• Creator Backlash: Christa clamed that with time he found Kayko to be hard to write, since he lacked obvious flaws to exaggerate and just wouldn't be funny on his own, without playing Straight Man to Kokosh. The story "W krainie borostworów" ("The Land of Forestlings") had a subplot about Kayko becoming his opposite, just so Christa could finally put him in comedic situations.
• No Export for You: For almost 50 years of the series' existence, it was never seen the light of day outside of Poland until recently when a few books were finally published in Denmark. The worldwide release of the animated series also helped increase its recognition.
• Unspecified Role Credit: Most dubs (with Polish being the main exception) only show a few main characters assigned to specific people in the credits.
• What Could Have Been: Over thirty years before the Netflix series, there was an attempt to make a cartoon with Hanna Barbera Studios as a co-producer. Only few minutes of characters' test animation were completed. The 2023 final volume of series integral edition spotlights a lot of never before seen production materials for the unfinished production.
  • Christa's original treatment for the story that would follow "On Holiday" (volume 6) included a modern-day scientist time traveling to Kayko and Kokosh and helping them by using modern inventions to stop Hegemon, who teamed up with an evil wizard. This plotline was scrapped, and Christa moved on to the first Cuddly story. However, many plot elements and ideas were reused by Christa in later books, such as the witch contest subplot that returned in "The Witch Festival" and the scientist who invented time travel in the short story "Professor 100-krotek."
  • There was an entire list of Christa's scrapped ideas, which included Kayko and Kokosh joining the Royal Mounties and having to track down a criminal, a princess who never stops laughing, and Kayko getting a magical bow that never misses. The mentioned ideas were used as bais for the plot of first full-length book by Kur and Kiełbus, "Królewska Konna" ("The Royal Mounties.") Kur later said it felt like a perfect way to bridge the old and new stories, even if Christa's intent on how to use these ideas is unknown aside for very brief synopsises, and he is aware that Christa would probably do them totally differently.
