Trivia / Kane

Go To

  • Creator Backlash:
    • His Isaac Yankem gimmick. He actually hung up on an interviewer who brought up the subject the first thing he did when he got Kane on the air.
    • The Christmas Creature. He so despises it he's occasionally asked wrestling websites to take down pictures of the Creature.
    • Katie Vick, for him and for Triple H. However, people still bring it up from time to time because it's so goshdarn hilarious to do so.
  • Executive Meddling: According to Jim Cornette, Vince Russo wanted to have Undertaker & Kane's first match a month after Kane's first appearance. Cornette had to convince him to work the angle as a slow burn, with the two finally fighting after months of build up.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: "Kanenites??"
  • Long Runner: He's been in WWE for just shy of twenty years and is currently the oldest wrestler on the active roster. He holds the record for most televised matches of any wrestler in WWE, by a significant margin.note
  • The Other Darrin:
    • The Fake Diesel gimmick, of course.
    • Teamed with Al Snow as Unabomb in SMW in 1995. Snow faced Ricky Morton once in a cage match, so that Unabomb, who was masked and supposedly chained outside, couldn't interfere. Unabomb (Jacobs) did, coming up through the mat from under the ring. The masked Unabomb here was Barry "Recon"/"Bull" Buchanan.
    • Also happened to him as well in 2006 with Impostor Kanenote
  • Real Life Writes the Plot:
    • Was randomly turned heel on the Undertaker before SummerSlam 2000 because Taker's original opponent, The Big Show, had been shipped off to WWE's developmental league Ohio Valley Wrestling in an attempt to get him to lose some weight. Although if you need someone to go heel on the Undertaker on a moment's notice without a stated reason...
    • The primary reason he was originally unmasked is because Glenn Jacobs was having increasing difficulty wrestling with the mask on.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: As Unabomb in SMW, he used KISS's "Unholy."
  • What Could Have Been: When the character was still in the planning stages, Jim Cornette pushed for Kane to have a more realistic look and persona based on Michael Myers.
