• Development Gag: A shattered Gyrosphere can be spotted in one scene, a nod to the original plans for this ride involving guests boarding a Gyrosphere as the ride vehicle.
• Serendipity Writes the Plot: As shown elsewhere on this page, the use of a traditional ride vehicle instead of the film's Gyrospheres are down to the technical limitations that attempting to represent such a vehicle would create.
• What Could Have Been: The original plan for the ride was that guests would board a Gyrosphere as their ride vehicle. As a practical effect, the Gyrosphere would've been suspended from the ceiling, with ropes allowing the vehicle to be shunted around to match the ride scenes. It is believed that two factors led to the replacement of the Gyrosphere with the more traditional A.T.L.A.S.. The first is that because the nature of the ride relies on guests having their attention focused upwards towards the giant dinosaur animatronics, a suspended ride system could have been intrusive and immersion breaking. The second is that the open sightlines from within the Gyrosphere would've required the ride to have much larger scenes, but less of them overall. The switch from Gyrosphere to A.T.L.A.S. meant the ride's overall length was doubled without expanding the space required.
