Jurassic World Adventure (侏罗纪世界大冒险) is a dark ride located at Universal Studios Beijing within the Jurassic World Isla Nublar area of the park. Broadly following the events of Jurassic World, it takes guests on a tour through the titular park just as all hell breaks loose. The ride opened on the park's opening day on September 20, 2021, and serves as the park's big signature new attraction.
The ride uses the same dark ride system as The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man and Transformers: The Ride, but eschews the 3D effects of those rides in favor of a more traditional mix of animatronics supported by screen effects.
Not to be confused with the prior Jurassic Park River Adventure and Jurassic World: The Ride attractions at other Universal parks, which feature different ride systems and storylines.
This ride provides examples of:
- Big Damn Heroes: Owen Grady and his raptors show up in the climax to rescue the guests from the Indominus Rex.
- Compressed Adaptation: The ride is a brisk adaption of the first Jurassic World film.
- Cool Car: The A.T.L.A.S.
- Dies Differently In The Adaptation: Instead of getting eaten by the Mosasaurus, the Indominus Rex is killed by Rexy, who pushes her into a building.
- Fun with Acronyms: The ride vehicles are dubbed the All-Terrain Luxury Autonomous System, or A.T.L.A.S..
- Gone Horribly Wrong: Guests board their vehicles with the intention of touring the park... But then the Indominus Rex breaks loose, and everything spirals out of control from there.
- Spared By Adaptation: Unlike in the movie where Delta and Echo were killed by the Indominus Rex and Charlie was blown up by a rocket launcher, all the raptors (with the possible exception of Echo, who still gets bitten and tossed away by the Indominus) survive the ride.
- Tempting Fate: Upon encountering the Ankylosaurus, the A.T.L.A.S. declares that its threat level is low just before it swats the ride vehicle with its tail, damaging it.
