• Ability over Appearance: Meryl Streep is 5'7 and the film has to resort to massive lifts and camera angles to make her look like the famously tall Julia Child. But she otherwise captures Julia's spirit and personality so perfectly that it doesn't matter.
• Scully Box: Done (at least with camera angles, digital technology, and undersized sets) in order to make Meryl Streep look 6'2. Streep also wore huge, Herman Munster shoes, which you can see in a few shots.
