    • The Caxtons: In chapter 4, it is mentioned Dame Primmins had a huge budget of stories, one of them being Jack The Giant Killer.
    • Under The Lilacs:
      • In chapter 5, when Mrs. Moss calls the characters for breakfast...
...and for about twenty minutes little was said, as mush and milk vanished in a way that would have astonished even Jack the Giant-killer with his leather bag.
      • In chapter 11, when Ben finds a book with a picture of a man cutting a giant's head off, he thinks it is Jack The Giant Killer, but it turns out to be actually David and Goliath.

The 1962 Film

  • Follow the Leader: This was producer Edward Small's attempt to cash in on the huge success of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, including bringing in that film's lead, Kerwin Matthews.
  • Late Export for You: The film wasn't released in the UK until 1967 and then received cuts for an 'A' certificate to edit the witch attack on the ship, Princess Elaine being attacked by the giant, and Jack's fight with the dragon.
