- All-Star Cast: All-Star Guests, at the very least. From Alan Alda to Renée Zellweger to everyone in between, you've probably heard of 90% of the guests who appeared on the show (they include 74 Academy Award Winners).
- Approval of God: Lipton enjoyed Will Ferrell's take on him on Saturday Night Live and even said he found himself looking out at the audience more often because of it.
- He Also Did: It's a bit weird to learn that Lipton also wrote a book entitled An Exaltation Of Larks, which is an exhaustive collection of group-names (ie, along the aforementioned larks, a group of bears is officially a "sloth", while one of ferrets is a "business."). He also did a bit of Adam Westing in Bolt as the in-universe show's over-the-top director.
- What Could Have Been: Ever since the show took off, James Lipton vigorously attempted to get Marlon Brando and Katharine Hepburn on the show. Although they were both members of the Actors Studio, neither wanted to interrupt their retirement from show business, be it talk-show or otherwise. He also tried to get Jack Nicholson, Denzel Washington, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Sean Connery to no avail — but he did manage to get Meryl Streep.
