  • Accidental Downer Ending: The season turned series finale "Appleton" has Reagan stuck between taking a new position among the Robes, or leaving the shadow government behind entirely to follow her boyfriend Ron, who wants to move to the titular town, wipe their memories, and start anew. She runs a variety of simulations to see she can have both. Despite being in love with Ron, Reagan cannot see a happy future where she can balance her passion for her work and her life with Ron. She lets Ron wipe his own mind, but leaves without wiping her own so he can find a happy life with someone else. She ends the season unhappy and unsure of her future, with a cliffhanger implying the Robes will take advantage of her new position. A second season was originally greenlit to follow up on this, but Netflix took it back and cancelled the series.
  • Completely Different Title:
    • Israel: Hamoshchim Bahutim ("The Puppet Masters", or more literally "The Stringpullers")
    • Japan: Inbou-ron no Oshigoto ("Conspiracy Theory Job")
    • Poland: Korporacja Konspiracja ("Corporation Conspiration")
    • Spain: Ultrasecretos ("Ultrasecrets")
  • The Danza: Bobby Lee voices the character of Andre Lee.
  • Production Lead Time:
    • The show premiered in late 2021, a year that was marked by conspiracy theorists causing major political unrest around the globe. Shion Takeuchi acknowledged this in an interview with Collider, remarking that the show was first concepted and greenlit about five years prior to its release, a time when conspiracy theories were seen as fringe, esoteric and a more lighthearted topic to make fun of.
    • In the fourth episode of Part 2, Ron confesses to "being the one who told Kanye West about politics." When the episode was being written, Kanye West's politic views were largely viewed as being comically uninformed and egocentric but otherwise mostly uncontroversial. However, shortly before the episode was released, Kanye West did an interview on Info Wars where he proudly declared his pro-Nazi views and espoused his belief in anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
  • Screwed by the Network: On January 2023, shortly after the release of its second season (or rather season 1 part 2), creator Shion Takeuchi announced on Twitter that Netflix had cancelled Inside Job. This is weird for several reasons but chief among them being that Netflix had initially announced they had renewed the series for a second season in June 2022, only to now walk that commitment back for reasons that haven't been publically revealed to viewers, press, or even the staff themselves. That the show had a Downer Ending with plenty of character arcs being left unresolved didn't help matters. Unlike a lot of the other shows Netflix has canned, the show was popular, consistently in Netflix's top 10 shows, and it garnered a dedicated fanbase, making it even more baffling to cancel it.
