  • Cognito Inc's logo resembles the logo of OCP from RoboCop (1987).
  • Workers at Cognito Inc (and Reagan too) use machines that are almost identical to the Power Loader from Aliens.
  • When the clones of JFK merge together into a flesh blob monstrosity, Brett tries to explain it to Reagan as "Have you seen AKIRA?" Later, one of the JFK heads sprouts spider legs and tries to scuttle off.
  • When Brett and Reagan are hiding from the JFK clones, a piece of paper pinned to the wall behind them reads "Losses Q1-Q4" and shows the lines of the "loss.jpg" meme.
  • When Reagan regroups with the gang to fight back against the JFK clones, she says "Let's make some Dead Kennedy's".
  • Myc is the one who has to distract the JFK clones by dressing up as Marilyn Monroe. He calls it some "Bugs Bunny bullshit".
  • The Reptoids' efforts to subtly spin themselves in a positive light in media include the GEICO Gecko, The Shape of Water, and getting King K. Rool in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
  • Reagan and one of her dates watch a Bourne film, in which all Jason Bourne can say is "Bourne", which isn't to dissimilar to how his actor Matt Damon was portrayed as only saying his name in Team America: World Police.
  • When Brett and Glenn switch bodies, a child in the cafe "Glenn" visits is reading an Animorphs book, and calls the horrifying half-dolphin man an Animorph. The book is surprisingly detailed, with a Freeze-Frame Bonus showing that it even has the text on the back of all the books that says "We can't tell you who we are..."
  • The episode focusing on the town stuck in the '80s has a lot of references to '80s media, which Reagan usually doesn't get. There is also a post card for the town that looks like the Gravity Falls title card.
  • "Ghost Protocol" has Skullfinger's henchmen, whose outfits and skull masks make them look like Skeletor crossed with a S&M gimp costume.
  • "Buzzkill" opens with a younger Reagan attempting to make her pet turtles into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Instead, she gives her turtles cancer by exposing them to radiation. After the flashback, Reagan is shown watching the Turtles on TV.
  • In "Buzzkill", Reagan saying "In space, no one can hear their dad talk about boning their mom" is a play on Alien's tagline: "In space no one can hear you scream."
  • In "Buzzkill" upon arriving on the Moon, Buzz Aldrin warns Reagan and Brett to stay away from the dark side because there's Moon Nazis there.
  • When Dr. Andre admits he flunked out of medical school in the finale, he also confesses to getting his medical degree from a screenshot from Doc McStuffins.
  • In the finale, Glenn paints a blue stripe on his face and yells "Freedom!"
  • A subtle one: When Rand activates the animatronic cryptids, he jumps on the yeti's back in a similar pose to the hunter symbiont from Man After Man: An Anthropology of the Future.
  • Brett wonders if the method to enter Reagan's memories is anything like Inception, or "that South Park episode that was just like Inception" (may also count as a Take That!).
  • The mind-reading device that Rand uses to enter Reagan's mind looks like the helmet that encrypts Dipper's thoughts in Gravity Falls.
  • Reagan's One-Person Birthday Party in her childhood was Jurassic Park themed, and called "Jurassic Party".
    • Another one to Jurassic Park occurs in the Season 2 episode, "Project Reboot", where the crew witness a goat getting devoured by a Tyrannosaurus.
  • One of Reagan's childhood memories shows that she pulled a "reverse Carrie" during her high school prom (that is, she dumped pig's blood on the popular kids rather than the other way around).
  • When Robotus and Bear-O fight, Andre quotes the famous "Let them fight" line from Godzilla (2014). Robotus also calls Bear-O "Shitty Ruxpin" and a Care Bear, to which Bear-O does a deadly Care-Bear Stare.
  • In the season 1 finale, Rand states what he thinks the moral of The Incredibles is.
Rand: There are special people like us who should run the world and there's normies like Orrin who deliver our pizza and fight our wars.
  • Myc is revealed to have been a Dragon Ball Z fan when he was younger, as shown in some footage of him holding a Goku action figure and explaining the plot of the Freeza Saga before getting shoved in a locker by a bully.
  • The not-so-subliminal messages in the news broadcasts in "Brettworks" are reminiscent of They Live!
  • The costumes from the Halloween party in season 2:
  • At the Halloween party, Andre begins reciting the song Monster Mash: I was working in the lab, late one night, and-
  • When explaining to Reagan that he's a lapsed Catholic, Ron shows her a photo of himself as a child having been put in a timeout at church, saying "That's me in the corner, losing my religion."
