- Spiritual Successor: They have one in The Halo Effect, a project formed by former guitarist Jesper Stromblad in 2021 as a more modern adaptation of the original In Flames sound. Interestingly, the project's lineup consists of all past members of In Flames, including original vocalist Mikael Stanne.
- What Could Have Been: They've been mentioned to appear in the soundtrack for the 2010 remake of Splatterhouse, with the likes of GWAR and even Cannibal Corpse. They didn't appear in the final cut, unfortunately.
