• Author's Saving Throw:
  • Hiroyuki. The team have addressed his lack of personality from the original and have given him his own quirks, shows his inner thoughts about his past, and have him be a more likable character.
  • Regarding Shun, many fans of the original found his route hard to sit through due to him being a romancable option while acting like a kid. Here, not only is he aged up to 18, but he also acts much more mature now, focusing more on his gamer personality than being the youngest, as well as his relationship with his family.
  • When the first demo was released, fans criticized Torahiko's face, finding it to be a little off-putting. The later demos would end up changing his look by making his head smaller and giving his eyes a friendlier look.
  • The old designs for the main cast had garnered a mixed reception, with some criticizing them for how pale and skinny they appeared compared to the original game. Starting with Build 7, released on August 2021, the main cast have gotten new artwork that more closely resembles their original counterparts.
  • Hiroyuki being made into an arctic fox had gotten mixed reactions among fans, with some preferring the new look while others wishing he stayed human. Build 10, released on May 2022, would add an option that changes him back into a human, giving players the choice of whether they want a human or beastman protagonist.
• Development Gag: Shin's new black fur looks very similar to his old design in concept arts.
• What Could Have Been: Sayu was originally planned to be a human, as shown in the video upload for #Selector featuring concept art of her as such. When it was decided to have the cast be all beastmen, Sayu was changed into a dog.
