Trivia / Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Actress Mary Demas plays three different victims of Henry: the woman lying on the ground in the first shot, the woman with the broken bottle stuck in her face in the opening montage of Henry's victims, and one of the two Disposable Sex Workers killed in Henry's car. In the DVD audio commentary, the director explained that Demas played multiple victims as a cost-cutting measure due to the film's low budget, with her wearing different wigs to make it less obvious that it's the same actress in the different scenes.
  • Completely Different Title:
    • Finland: Henry Lee Lucas: Serial Killer
  • The Foreign Subtitle:
    • Italy: Henry: Rain of Blood
    • Portugal: Henry: The Shadow of an Assassin
    • Sweden: Henry: A Mass Murderer
  • The Other Darrin: In 1996's Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Part II, Henry is portrayed by Neil Giuntoli.
  • The Shelf of Movie Languishment: Completed in 1986 and shown at a few film festivals shortly afterward, the controversy surrounding the film's graphic violence and potentially legally-questionable connection to real people meant it wasn't commercially released until January 1990.
