• Box Office Bomb: Budget, $135 million. Box office, $64,006,466 (domestic), $150,406,466 (worldwide). This lost Warner $40 million, but in retrospect, the film bombing may have been in both Warner and Miller's best interests, as that led to Miller returning to action by finally completing Mad Max: Fury Road, which was a major accomplishment for his career.
• Celebrity Voice Actor: The Japanese dub has African-American/Japanese singer Crystal Kay voicing Gloria
• Creator Killer: The rather poor reception led to Miller's Dr D Studios closing.
• Franchise Killer: The box office failure of Happy Feet Two and the lack of new ideas has put the film series on hiatus. Even George Miller isn't sure how he's going to pull off a third film. Crucial co-star Robin Williams's tragic suicide in 2014 made the outcome of a third film even more uncertain. In the meantime, with the franchise on ice, Miller refocused on Mad Max.
  • In an interview, when asked about a 3rd Happy Feet, Miller said, "If you put a gun to my head and said, 'You have to come up with a story for Happy Feet Three,' I’d say shoot me."
• Kids' Meal Toy: As they did with the first movie, Burger King had a Kids' Meal tie-in; this one consisting of twelve toys; Mumble, Erik, Boadicea, Rockin' Will and Bill, Groovin' Lovelace, Gloria, the Mighty Sven, Ramon, Carmen, and Head Spinnin' Atticus.
• The Other Darrin:
  • P!nk is the new voice of Gloria in the sequel due to Brittany Murphy's passing of pneumonia in December 2009.
  • Common replaces Fat Joe as Seymour in the sequel.
