Trivia / Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween

• Descended Creator: R. L. Stine as Principal Harrison.
• Invisible Advertising: The film barely had much advertising to it. Most didn't even know there was a sequel.
• The Other Darrin: Mick Wingert takes over Jack Black as the voice of Slappy this time around (though Jones did provide all of Slappy's laughs and some of his dialogue).
• The Other Marty: It was originally announced that Slappy would be voiced by Avery Lee Jones (who just did the puppet work in the first film); however, it later seemed that Jack Black re-dubbed Slappy's lines prior to the film's release. However, upon the film's release, it was confirmed that it was actually Mick Wingert, well known for being an expert Jack Black impressionist, who voiced Slappy (though Jones did provide all of Slappy's laughs and some of his dialogue).
• Recycled Script: A common criticism of the movie is that the first half is basically a standard "Night of the Living Dummy" plot while the second half is a more Halloween-themed repeat of the original film's plot.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The earliest version of the screenplay was set in the Horrorland amusement park.
  • Originally, the filmmakers weren't sure if Jack Black would be willing or able to reprise his role and two versions of the script were written, one with R.L. Stine as a character and the other without. Filming began on the script without Stine, only for Black to become available and his character was written in at the last minute.
