Trivia / Ghosts of Fear Street

  • Recycled Script:
    • Tale of the Blue Monkey is basically the Goosebumps book It Came from Beneath the Sink!, but with a monkey toy in place of a sponge. Although it expands on the plot by having there be rules for activating the toy's bad luck curse and a villain who created it.
    • Body Switchers From Outer Space has basically the same setup as Why I'm Afraid of Bees, with a down on his luck kid agreeing to switch bodies with a more popular boy only for it to go wrong.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Like the main series, a few of the books had cover artwork done back before the Fear Street titles switched publishers over to Gold Key. Escape of the He-Beast was solicited as the 28th of the Ghosts of Fear Street books. Instead, 'Hide and Shriek II was released ahead of Escape of the He-Beast. I Was A Sixth-Grade Zombie also had a different cover.
    • The first Horror Hotel book had a cover done by Happy Boy Pat, but the released edition was done by artist Cliff Neilsen.
    • The Funhouse of Dr. Freek was supposed to be released after the second Horror Hotel book, but was never officially written nor was any cover art released for it. All that's known is the plot involved a kid's reflection coming to life from a funhouse mirror.
      • Coming off this, Happy Boy Pat's archived website had a file for a piece of cover art for a book called Invasions of the Bodyswitchers. No known Ghosts of Fear Street had this title, although it's similar to Body Switchers from Outer Space (which was published years before). At this point it's unclear if this artwork is referring to a completely different book, or if it was going to be used for Horror Hotel - Part II (which involved body switching), or Funhouse of Dr. Freek.
