Trivia / Ghost Whisperer

Go To

  • Acting for Two: An unusual example in "The Walk In", in which Jamie Bamber played Ghost Of The Week Bryan Curtis... and Bryan Curtis' body, which had been inhabited by the other Ghost Of The Week, who needed it to take care of some unfinished business before he crossed over, but was subsequently preventing Bryan from doing so.
  • Completely Different Title:
    • In Portugal this series was actually broadcast with two titles: Entre Vidas ("Between Lives") on SIC and Em Contacto ("In Contact") on Fox Life. However, SIC stopped broadcasting it after season 3, so the show is now known there by Fox Life's title, and when Syfy started broadcasting the show it used the latter, SIC's title now basically forgotten.
    • The series was marketed in Spain as Entre Fantasmas ("Among Ghosts") and later remade as El don de Alba ("Alba's Gift").
  • Directed by Cast Member: Jennifer Love Hewitt made her directorial debut with "Body of Water" in season 4, and also called the shots on the final season's "Birthday Presence" (the fifth season premiere) and "Implosion."
  • Dueling Shows: With Medium, which later came on right after Ghost Whisperer on Fridays. Alas, we never got to have an hilarious/awesome crossover. (Amusingly, Paramount Television note  which made Medium also co-produced Ghost Whisperer with Touchstone).
  • Executive Meddling: Melinda's wardrobe had to be toned down because it was too expensive.
  • Fake American: Subverted with Jamie Bamber as Bryan Curtis in "The Walk In". He's sporting an American accent as he usually does in his US TV appearances, but despite having been born in London, he has US citizenship thanks to his father being an American.
  • Foreign Remake: Spain's El don de Alba. Take a look.
  • Hey, It's That Place!:
    • Grandview is actually the Courthouse Square from Back to the Future. (Coincidentally, one of Delia's suitors is Biff Tannen.)
    • The front of Melinda and Jim's house is the same set used by the Finch family in the film version of To Kill a Mockingbird.
  • The Other Darrin: Deliah's son, Ned, underwent a sudden age-up after changing actors.
  • Romance on the Set:
    • Sense a bit of chemistry between Melinda and Todd in the episode "Friendly Neighbourhood Ghost"? Well Todd was played by Ross McCall - who was engaged to Jennifer Love Hewitt.
    • Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy also dated for a year.
