- Acting for Two:
- Wilde and Eton are both played by Seán Cullen.
- Oscar and Bud Chuckles are voiced by Colin Mochrie.
- Author Avatar: In the episode, My Stars, George claims his middle name is Marshall (not "Adventure" as he claimed while under his "cool guy" gambit) which is the last name of the original author.
- Celebrity Voice Actor: The titular characters, surprisingly. George is voiced by Nathan Lane, and Martha by Andrea Martin.
- Cross-Regional Voice Acting: Nathan Lane and Andrea Martin were the only American actors in the main cast. Everyone else recorded their dialogue in Toronto.
- International Coproduction: The series is a co-production between Nelvana and YTV in Canada, Wang Film Productions in Taiwan and HBO Family in America.
- Only So Many Canadian Actors: With the exception of Nathan Lane as George, all of the voice actors on the show qualify. Notably, the series doesn't feature most of your usual Nelvana voice talents (with the exception of Dwayne Hill as various minor characters), but instead has all the major roles filled by noted Canadian comedians, such as Seán Cullen, Colin Mochrie, Tony Rosato, and Debra McGrath. Additionally, Martha's voice Andrea Martin, while not Canadian-born, did make a name for herself on SCTV back in the 70s when she worked primarily in Toronto.
- Posthumous Credit: The animated series premiered over six years after James Marshall's 1992 death.
- Real-Life Relative: Colin Mochrie (Bud Chuckles) and Debra McGrath (Valerie Chuckles) are married in real life. One could wonder if Bud and Valerie are married as well.
- Real Song Theme Tune: The theme song is "Perfidia" by Mambo All-Stars.
