Trivia / Gatehammer Fantasy Battles

  • Accidentally-Correct Writing: In the 2nd part of the Call to Arms chapter, Emperor Molt begrudgingly agrees to send help to the Empire of Man against the Vampire Counts in the Vassal Kingdoms by giving Pina command of the XVII, XVIII, and XIX legions. IRUn was surprised when one reader pointed out the numbers of those Legions were same numbers of the three Roman legion that were destroyed during the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.
  • What Could Have Been: The snippets differ from the fanfic since certain events happened differently and Word of God has explained almost everything in the snippets will not happen in the main story:
    • Fort Griffin was originally called Castle Greif.
    • Tulka was not rescued by Vanon in the snippets and only meet him much later.
    • The Flame Dragon was killed by Blood Dragon knight Abhorash instead of the Imperials and High Elves in the main story.
    • Chaos first arrived in the North of the Saderan Empire due to a portal opening in Norsca while in the main story, it appeared due to the Adviser from Total War: Warhammer going to the gate at Alnus Hill before the Imperials occupying it.
    • In the snippets, the Dark Elves of Falmart were the first race to be turned into vampires by Abhorash. But in the main story, King Duran's son and his followers were turned into vampires by Manfred Von Carstein.
    • Zorzal dies much later when he, Pina and Diabo get involve in a civil war over the throne with the Empire of Man and Bretonnia supporting the latter two respectively.
  • Word of God:
    • The Lizardmen will not show up in the story, nor will the Tomb Kings, because IRUn can't find a way to get them to enter the gate without it sounding ham fisted.
      • As of late, this will likely change, as the author has noted that it would be extremely Out of Character for the Slann to not take action against the gate. The Tomb Kings will still not appear however. note
