Trivia / Fugget About It

  • Adored by the Network: Currently still in heavy rotation on the Canadian version of [adult swim], most likely to comply with Canadian content laws. Also recently adopted by Comedy Central in the UK.
  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: A couple episodes have characters refer to 911 as the emergency services number, despite being Canadian or at least in Canada at the time. As it turns out, both the USA and Canada use 911 as their emergency services number (as opposed to using another code, like other countries).
  • Creator's Oddball: For 9 Story Media Group. Hard to believe the same company that produces children's cartoons for networks like PBS Kids would also make an adult animated sitcom.
  • Fake American: Most of the New York characters are voiced by Canadians.
  • What Could Have Been: The pilot showcases previous character concepts that were changed in the final series:
    • Notable changes were made to Petey. Originally he was named Paulie, had a higher-pitched, nasally voice, a different face, no glasses, etc. His personality as a Butt-Monkey and Granola Girl stayed consistent, however. The concept of Paulie was later reused in an episode of the main series, where he became Petey's uncle.
    • McCool was a completely different character, a red-head cop who had a helicopter rather than a horse. Needless to say, it is no surprise he was entirely reworked.
    • Cheech had a VERY different voice.
    • The locations are far less notable and the house has a different design.
    • The animation is more blocky and pastel than the brighter and clear designs present in the series, as well as using more 'bouncing ball' character motions.
    • The pilot was reworked as the first official episode of the series, "Hate Crime Legislation Is For Pussies". It follows a similar plot, only at the end Petey wins the boxing match, rather than losing it like in the first episode.
