  • Deleted Scene: Originally, Iris died by sinking in quicksand instead of a snakebite. This was changed in the final cut because producers thought it looked "too silly", but the original scene can be seen in the trailer.
  • Duelling Movies: By incredible coincidence, the film got released on the same date as Silent Running, another ecologically-themed film.
  • Enforced Method Acting: According to actress Lynn Borden, the filmmakers left the actors in the dark about how their characters would die, in an effort to make their terrified reactions seem genuine.
  • Money, Dear Boy: Unsurprisingly, Ray Milland's motivation for doing this movie. By the 1970s, Milland was semi-retired and only took film roles when his finances took a dive, which certainly explains his presence here and in The Thing with Two Heads.note  Milland reportedly hated Frogs so much that he walked off the set before finishing his scenes, requiring use of a body double for long shots of his character.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Originally, the film was shot with more R-rated material, such as nudity and scenes with marijuana smoking.
    • A sequel to this was planned at one point, which would have the entire country attacked by swamplife. It would also be revealed that Jason Crockett would've survived his attack from the first movie and that he found a weakness to defeat the animals. As Ray Milland wanted nothing to do with the movie again, this didn't go through.
