• Acting for Two:
  • Aside from voicing Barret, Antfish also voiced Giuseppe, Tankceratops, and other one-shot characters.
  • Takahata101 voices Red XIII and Reno, but also Giuseppe's Son, Squaticles, Seto, and briefly (in a Casting Gag to Hellsing Abridged) Vincent Valentine.
  • Lanipator voices Cait Sith, Mog, and Reeve Tuesti. This case is Significant Double Casting considering Reeve controls Cait Sith and Mog.
  • Megami33 voices Marlene Wallace and a number of bit roles.
  • SungWon Cho voices both Dio and Godo Kisaragi.
  • Elsie Lovelock voices both Shera and Lucretcia Crescent, plus few bit roles.
• Approval of God: This is actually one of the only abridged series to be at least partially sanctioned by the original copyright owners. Team Four Star and Square Enix have made contractual deals with each other, so the music used in Final Fantasy VII Machinabridged is remixed by AinTunez from the original score of Final Fantasy VII with TFS being allowed to sell albums of the soundtrack while Square Enix gets a cut of the profit. As such, this series lacks a disclaimer about the show being a "fan-based parody" of the original work like the ones in many other abridged series (including those done by Team Four Star).
• Creator Backlash: Antfish mentioned during the full series stream leading up to the finale movie that episode 2 contains a joke he's not proud of. This joke ended up being the Prison Rape threat Tifa made towards Cloud. When the stream gets to that point, Antfish starts reading bit drops out loud, all to make sure that he's talking over the moment and thus drowning it out.
• Dear Negative Reader: Takahata101 was pretty defensive about how Tifa was written, and later takes a potshot at the fans that took issue with it in the Midgar Mix promo video.
• Descended Creator: Series director and writer Antfish is the voice of Barret.
• Reality Subtext: The Grand Finale debuted during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic, in a year marked by environmental degradation, economic catastrophes, and racial and political tensions. As such, the Turks have lost their jobs and are struggling to make ends meet, Cloud outright refers to JENOVA as a virus, and Aerith gives a heartfelt speech about coming together for the sake of the world.
• Remake Cameo: Sort of. ShudoRanmaru, who voices Scarlet, voiced Yuffie in the short lived (and first) Final Fantasy VII Abridged Series by SonsOfSatire.
• Trolling Creator: In the trailer for Season 2, Vincent's VA is listed as "???", even though it's obviously Takahata101. While he does end up voicing Vincent, it's only for one line before he gets replaced with Faulerro.
• Troubled Production: The show was MasakoX's first undertaking as a professional editor, and it took a while to work out an editing style that worked with the gameplay footage. Masako and Antfish confirmed there are fourteen file exports they still have saved of the pilot episode while they were working all of this out.
• Word of God: hbi2k explained during the Twitch streaming of the first nine episodes of Season 2 that Antfish allowed uncensoring the word "Fuck" when Dyne says it. The end result is a rather powerful speech Dyne gives to Barret before he dies. Twice.
