Trivia / Fate/Magnus Bellum

Go To

  • Bonus Episode: To compliment the Bizarro Episode, the Side Act. It serves as a prologue/introduction to FMB's eventual sequel.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original draft featured both Gilgamesh and Cu Chulainn as Servants that were ALSO summoned by Jeanne just like Arthur, and would have featured a Servant Tournament akin to Fate/Extra with a hundred Servants. But due to realizing how hard that would be to make, mostly the one-hundred Servants part, the story eventually it turned into a Prototype/Apocrypha crossover with elements borrowed from other entries in the Nasuverse since there are so few that use the two settings as backdrops (Not just taking elements, but using the actual setting) in general.
    • The author originally planned to exclude Karna, but it removed the chance of him fighting Arthur, Gilgamesh, Siegfried, or Achilles, so he was retained as a Rogue Servant.
    • During the first battle of ACT-2, Lu Bu wasn't originally going to be killed off. However, since it was redundant to have two Berserkers on the same team, and that the Rogue Faction lacked a proper rival for Arthur in terms of role (Karna couldn't fulfill it since as he's too powerful to properly figure as a rival), an additional Servant was brought in to replace him instead. Also, two of the original candidates for the role were Saber-Gawain and Lancer-Li Shuwen, but both were left in the dust as a darkhorse victory came in the form of Richard the Lionheart.
    • Sieg wasn't originally going to be featured in the story, and another homunculus named Alzir (Who first appeared during Chapter 4) from the novels would've taken his place. But having Astolfo without Sieg didn't feel right. And as such, he was included.
