Trivia / Fast & Furious 6

Go To

  • California Doubling: All of the scenes set in Russia were filmed in London. Meanwhile, the first car chase through the streets of London was actually shot in Glasgow (with a detour through Liverpool's Queensway Tunnel).
  • Cast the Runner-Up: Jason Statham was considered for Owen Shaw. He was eventually cast as his brother Deckard.
  • Hey, It's That Place!: The protagonists' London HQ is also used for a scene in RED 2.
  • The Other Darrin: Roberto Molina replaces Raúl Anaya as Stasiak in the Latin Spanish dub.
  • Real-Life Relative: In the London scene where Dom is racing Letty, there is a small Asian boy who is seen watching the race from a classic London double-decker red street bus. The same kid, who was watching Dom and Brian while they pulled the safe in the previous movie, is Justin Lin's son.
  • Throw It In!:
    • When Hobbs arrives at the barbecue Roman remarks that they "better hide the baby oil," to which Hobbs replies with "you better hide that big ass forehead." Hobbs line was improvised by Dwayne Johnson, so Ludacris spitting out his drink and Tyrese Gibson being at a loss for words are both spontaneous, genuine reactions.
    • The stuffy British guy was apparently supposed to say "You're clearly not a player" to Tej and Hobbs, but the actor, Jason Thorpe, ad-libbed "you're clearly not a baller." This change cracked everyone up enough that it was left in.
  • Uncredited Role: Mark Bomback did an uncredited rewrite for the script.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • David Tennant was considered for Shaw.
    • Rihanna was rumored for a role, with some speculating that Rita Ora's cameo appearance was intended for her.
    • The post credits Tokyo Scene was originally supposed to feature Han surviving the explosion, but this was ultimately cut as they believed it'd be too unrealistic after bringing Letty back from the dead. Ultimately subverted in the ninth instalment.
    • Sarah Harding was considered for the role of Vegh.
  • Wag the Director: After being allowed to perform some of her own stuntwork in the previous films, Gal Gadot requested more action scenes for Giselle and do all of own her stunts this time as a condition for returning, a request director Justin Lin happily obliged.
  • Working Title: Furious 6.
